ABOUT ITS

Mission
|
|
The
Institute for Taiwanese Studies was founded on July 26, 2003. It is an
independent, non-profit organization focusing on studies related to
Taiwan's past and future developments. It is therefore a comprehensive
think tank. The major areas of ITS' studies are: military and national
defense; finance and economics; culture, history and education; science
and technology; and politics and society. A researcher participates in
research activities on volunteer basis. ITS stresses non-conventional
approach and values creativity and innovation. The research results of
ITS researchers are to be published in Taiwanese and/or English. The
purpose of such publications is to inform and educate the public. ITS
strives to establish itself as a think tank taken seriously in the United
States as well as Taiwan.

台灣研究院于 2003 年 7 月 26 日在美國洛杉磯成立。台灣研究院是一個獨立的非營利組織、專注于与台灣過去及未來發展相關議題的研究。可以說是綜合型的智庫組織。它的研究領域含概五大項目：軍事國防、財經、歷史文化教育、科技及政治社會。研究人員是以志工身份參与研究，研究時以非傳統方式思考、注重創意及創值。此智庫之研究成果將以台文及英文發表，它兼具教育大眾之目的。此智庫將成為美國及台灣民間及官方所重視之智庫。
